Last week, despite the promised rain, the roof was poured in 2 sections, one on Tuesday, one on Friday. Work will proceed rapidly towards sealing, insulating and tiling the roof over the next couple of weeks. Meanwhile, inside the building, the works continue on the ground floor with setting out drainage services and planning the routing of ducting for other services such as Air Conditioning and underfloor heating throughout the building.
Once the drainage pipes are set out in the hardcore the floor slab will be poured in the coming week or so. The support structure for the concrete has now been removed from ground and first floors and the windows unblocked allowing light flood around the building. The glazing contractor will be on site this week to confirm the final glazing selection, particularly for the large window spans on the sliding doors overlooking the terraces / gardens.
The first floor has also been marked out for division of the building into initially the separate homes but then the subdivision into the rooms of each home. Work will commence shortly on the internal walls when the final layouts have been signed off by the architect.
